Elders have to speak Mandarin to them for easy communication. Kids have little patients. Speaking Taiwanese to them will require them to have a few seconds thinking about it or translate it into Mandarin to understand. That will make them less likely to have conversation with the elders. This is a "kids are king" generation. I don't see any easy way of changing it. |
